Hogan, ó hOgáin A Gaelic surname meaning descendant of ógán, diminutive of óg meaning ‘young’. A sept of the Dál gCais who derived their descent from Cosrach, uncle of Brian Boru. They were seated at Ardcrony, about four miles to the north of Nenagh in Tipperary. A sept of the Corcu Loíghdhe in south-west Cork.
