Livingston, Livingstone, Levingston. A Scottish surname of territorial origin from the parish in West Lothian. The MacLeavys, a small sept of the Stewarts of Appin sometimes so anglicised their surname. In 1890 the surname was principally found in Armagh, Antrim and Down, and the estimated number of bearers was 1,925.
