Mallon, Mellon, ó Mealláin A Gaelic surname derived from meall meaning ‘pleasant’. An ecclesiastical sept of the Cineál Eoghain who were hereditary keepers of the Bell of St. Patrick. They were seated in the parish of Donaghmore, near Dungannon in Tyrone. Also see Mulholland.
