Church of the Sacred Heart (Jesuit)

CHURCH OF THE SACRED HEART

The Church of The Sacred Heart, Limerick City was built by the Jesuits in 1864 and designated with that name in 1869.  The church has been used by local residents to celebrate Mass for the past 130 years but was sold to property developer John Dolan in June 2006.  The final Mass was celebrated at the church on Friday 30th June by Dr. Donal Murray, DD, Bishop of Limerick.
