SAINT CRONAN'S CHURCH

St. Cronan's Church, Crusheen, County Clare was built in 1837. There had been a earlier church on this site. A major reconstruction began in 1915. Entrance piers (originally from the Ballyline house of Austin Butler) and walls were erected by the MacNamaras. The church was reroofed in 1989. A holy water fountain in the present church is said to have come from the earlier church. (Reference - The Parish of Inchichronan, Thomas Coffee 1993.)
