SAINT COLMAN'S CHURCH
St. Colman's Church, Kilkeel, County Down is also known as Massforth and sometimes referred to as Ballymageogh in older records. Building of an earlier chapel was begun in 1811 by Rev. John MacMullan and completed in 1818 by Rev. Richard Curoe. The original chapel was replaced in 1870 by Rev. George Maguire at a cost of £5,000. Prior to the building of the chapel, parishioners attended Mass in the open air at Mass Forth.
