Ella Mae (Taylor) Brown

(1888 - 1970) 

 


 

Ella mae Taylor was born October 6, 1888 on a farm in Texas County.  She was the youngest child of Alexander Selkirk Taylor and Emily Hughes.

In the summer of 1908 she was converted, baptised in the Piney River and joined the Simmons Babtist Church.  She spent most of her girlhood near the little town of Simmons, MO.

In 1909 her mother - then a widow - moved to Montier, MO.  It was there on October 2, 1912 she married David A. Brown at the home of her mother.

To this union seven children were born.  Guy E., Richard H., Donald E., Allen T., Delmar T., Lenora Sue and William D.

In 1910, while working in Birch Tree, she transferred her church membership to Birch Tree Babtist Church.  She was a Past Noble Grand in the Rebekah Lodge.  She was a member of the Mtn. Viwe Lodge 566 for years.
