There has been no evidence presented, or located anywhere, giving information that would lead us to verifiable data regarding this entry. This is after 40 years of research by The Tackett Family Assn. on both the SPILLER and TACQUETT/TACKETT/TACKITT families]

2. William b 1684 in Prince William Co.,Va. m'd 1757 in Northumberland (now Prince William) County, Virginia to Mary (Don Chesnut said her maiden name was Mason). and Lucy King. notes: " CAVALIERS AND PIONEERS Avstacts pf Virginia Land Patents and Grant"Vol Five: 1741-1749. by Dennis Hudgins.

Although CHARLES GWATKINS [the eldest found] is not noted on the 1737 Brent Town Tract map, as are LEWIS TACQUETT and WILLIAM SPILLER

Mary Spiller who married Johm Masey is the daughter of William Spiller. Cannot find a Mary as Dau of Wmm Sr. Have been looking in Prince William Co Deed Books 1764-1769 So

Mary Spiller is the GRANDdaughter of Wm Spiller. That's how it is stated in his will.

The will is dated in 1746. My guess is that Mary died aft 1756/1757 and He married Lettice MONTGOMERY about 1758. Lettice Montgomery Maysey married Philip Mason aft 1760

Here's the abstract: 1748: Prince William Co., Va., Deed of Gift, William Spiller, Sr. of the Parish of Dettengen, Planter, for the love and affection which I have and do bear towards John MAYSEY and my loving granddaughter, Mary, his wife, of the Parrish of Truro, County of Fairfax, have given and granted . . .one tract of land in the Parrish of Dittingin, Prince William Co., . . . 150 acres, . . So. side of Main Run Occoquan and on the lower side of a small branch called French Branch, thence up . . . at the Mouth of the inside fork of said branch thence up the said fork . . . near the head of the said fork, . . . line in the Midle Branch, thence down the said Branch with the old line to Long Branch, thence down Long Branch to the Main Run of Occoquan. Witness: John METCALFE, William JOENS, Edward GWATKIN.
