Mary Janice Jackson Pelphrey, 72, of Paintsville, died Thursday, Oct. 31,
at Paul B. Hall Medical Center.
  
Born Jan. 5, 1941, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Howard and Fannie McCloud Jackson. She was a retired nurse.
  
She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Thomas Dotson; four
brothers; and two sisters.
  
Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Wells of Paintsville and Lisa
Murphy of Van Lear; two brothers, Paul Jackson of Indianapolis, Ind., and
Bill Jackson of Paintsville; six grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 2, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, Paintsville, with Roger Thornsbury officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
