Carmona Ethel "Kate" Phelps, 86, of Meally, died Sunday, July 12, at
her residence.
  
Born Aug. 19, 1922, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the
late John and Nancy Ward Webb.
  
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Pete" Phelps;
three brothers, John Roe Webb, Herman Webb and Shadie Webb; and a
sister, Edith Ellen Bloomer.
  
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Sue Taylor of Meally; two
sisters, Sue Horn and Laura Belle Mollette, both of Boons Camp; seven
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 15, at Phelps
and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Wayne Short officiating.
  
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
