LAURA SALYERS
1887-1970
   
Mrs. Laura Salyers, 82, died Friday, January 2 aafter an extended
illness.
   
The daughter of the late William and Julia Ann Estep McKenzie, she was
born in Johnson County on June 23, 1887. She was a resident of
Paintsville at the time of her death.
  
Her husband, Ben Jack Salyers, preceded her in death.
  
Survivors include three sons, Roy of Paintsville, Mitchell of Chicago,
Illinois and Orville of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Louise
Bevins and Mrs. Elva Hamilton of Paintsville; eleven grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Hollie McKenzie of Orient, Ohio;
and a sister, Mrs. Virgil Stapleton of Hager Hill.
  
The Reverend Lesile M. Rogers officiated at the funeral service on
Monday, January 5 in the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
  
Interment followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville
with the Jones and Preston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
