OLMA H. SPARKS
1894-1978
Olma H. Red Sparks, 83, died Monday, February 13, in St. Elizabeth
Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, after an extended illness.
Mr. Sparks was born September 18, 1894, in Johnson County, the son of
John and Missouri Phillips Sparks.
He was a resident of Union, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Ward Sparks; two sons, Dr. O.D. Sparks,
Oklahoma City, Okla., and Howard Sparks, Paintsville; three step-
sons, Henderson Ward, Springbororo, Ohio, and Douglas Ward,
Brookslile, Ohio; three daughters, Dorothy Bradley, Kenova, W. Va.,
Darlene Prestion, Canton, Ohio, and Sue Estep, Lexington; a step-
daughter, Estelle Ward Burga, Hager Hill; two brothers, J. O. Jarvie
Sparks, Thelma, and Chester Sparks, Lake Plaza, Fla.; and three
sisters, Alma Neeley, Hampton, Va., Maxie Studghill, York Town,
Penn., and Mona Roth, Lake Plaza, Fla.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 17, in Jones- Preston
Funeral Home Chapel with C. J. Sparks and Charles Price as
officiating ministers.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Van Lear Masonic Lodge No. 885 conducted Masonic services.
