CARL DOUGLAS SPEARS
1925-2008
  
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 6, 3 p.m. at the First Free Will
Baptist Church on Third St., Paintsville, Ky., for Carl Douglas Spears,
82, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, Oct. 3 at Highlands Regional
Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
  
Mr. Spears was born Oct. 27, 1925 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the
late Russell and Madge Crace Spears.
  
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Justine Spears; and three
brothers, Charlie, Harold and Russell Spears Jr. Surviving are two
daughters, Linda Blankenship of Paintsville, and Penny Sue Gasparac of
Lanexa, Va.; two sons, Carl Douglas Jr. of Kannapalis, N.C., and Monty
Timothy Spears of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Clarence Spears of
Columbus; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
  
The service was officiated by Larry Blair, with burial in the Highland
Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
  
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of
Paintsville.
