Funeral services were held May 13 in the First Church of Christ at
Stambaugh for William Stambaugh.
William Ford and Milt Blankenship
officiated, while the Preston Funeral Home cared for burial at the
Highland Memorial Park.
Stambaugh, 61, suffered an extended illness before dying in an Ashland
hospital on May 10.
The 36-year resident of Wittensville was the son of the late George and
Minerva Brummet Stambaugh and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was born in Winchester.
His wife, Agnes Preston Stambaugh, survives, as do five sons, George L.
Stambaugh of Xenia, Ohio, William R. Stambaugh of Volparoiso, Ind.,
Paintsiville, resident Gerald L. Stambaugh, Arthur Clayton Stambaugh of
Staffordsville, and David M. Stambaugh from Wittensville; three
daughters, Mrs. Willia Marie Kuhns of Pittsburg, Pa., Mrs. Minervia Jane
Hackworth of Ashland, and Mrs Sarah Lynn Conley of Chillicothe, Ohio.
Other survivors are five brothers; Virgil H. Stambaugh from Marco,
Calif., Troy Stambaugh of Colorado Springs, Col. Earnest Stambaugh of
Covington, Dr.Harry Stambaugh and Glenn J. Stambaugh, both of
Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Mae Howe of Maysville, and Mrs Mary
Ramey of Barboursville, and eight grandchildren.
