MABEL WARD
1898-1971

Funeral services were held on July 7 in the West Van Lear Missionary
Baptist Church for Mabel Ward, 72, who died three days earlier in her
West Van Lear home.

The Rev. John G. Sammons officiated, after which the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home took charge of burial arrangements in the Highland Memorial
Park.

The former Missionary Baptist was preceded in death by two daughters,
Thelma and Irene.

Survivors are her husband, Asbury Ward; a son from London, Ohio, Ralph
Ward; three daughters, Wilma Moore of Gallaway, Ohio, Marie Pelphrey of
West Jefferson, Ohio and Iris Blair of West van Lear; one brother, James
Hyden of Texas; three sisters from Texas, Garnett McDonald, Mildred
Griffin and Gladys Adams, as well as a sister from West Van Lear, Mrs.
Newt Belcher.

Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
