Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Alice M. Wells,
86.
  
Mrs. Wells was born June  8, 1904 in Floyd County, the daughter of
George and Leota Music Sherman. She was a member of the Church of
Christ.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paris Wells, in 1970.
  
Surviving are one son, Carl Lee Wells, of Springfield, Ohio; three
daughters, Roberta Baldwin, of Paintsville, Jean Arrowood, of River, and
Ruth Harding, of Bardstown; three half brothers, Willie Sherman, of
Florida, Everett Lee Sherman, of Michigan, and Thurston Sherman, of
Springfield; two half sisters, Alma Clifford abd Janice Gilbert, both of
Springfield, Ohio; and 24 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
   
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, in Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Eddie Young officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
