Maude A. Wells, 102, of Newport News, Ohio, formerly of Johnson County,
died Friday, June 6, at St. Francis Nursing Center.
  
Born Jan. 14, 1912, in Magoffin County, she was the daughter of the late
Homer and June Patrick Arnett. She was a homemaker.
  
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Wells; and a sister,
Elna Rice.
  
Survivors include a son, Ronnie D. Wells of Newport News; a sister, Irene
Salyer; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  
Graveside services were Friday, June 13, in Highland Memorial Park
Cemetery, Staffordsville, with Wes Stedtefeld officiating, under direction
of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
