WILLIAM FRANKLIN WHEELER
1879-1970

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 19 for William
Franklin Wheeler, 90, who died Tuesday, June 16 in a local
hospital after an illness of one week.

Elders J. T. Bailey and O. I. Williams officiated at the services
in the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Interment followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville
under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were Elmon Davis, Roy Helton, Ishmael Grim,
Wayne Blevins, Roy Ross and Chester Foley. Honorary pall bearers
were Ross Lyons, D. H. Dorton, Worthy Blevins, Harry Thomas, Dr.
G. M. Stafford, Henry Holbrook, Dan Wheeler, Dr. P. B. Hall, Oba
Austin, Herman Wheeler, Vern Conley, Walter Griffith, George
Ramey, Dewey Helton, Kelse Helton, John Rasnick, and Ben Adams.

A liflong resident of Winifred, he was born October 12, 1879 the
son of the late Martin V. and Sarah Justince Wheeler. He was a
retired farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Arville Wheeler of Richmond, Roy
Wheeler of Coal Mountain, W. Va., and John M. Wheeler of
Paintsville; one daughter, Mrs. C. G. Helton of Paintsville; six
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Additional survivors include two brothers, M. O. Wheeler of
Paintsville and S. L. Wheeler of Detroit, Mich.; and a sister,
Mrs. Louise May of Ashland.
