Lorene Blevins Young, 85, of Van Lear, died Sunday, April 20, at
Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington, W.Va.
  
Born March 26, 1929, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Herbert C. Blevins and Dixie Irene Simpson.
   
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary W. Young; two sisters,
Catherine Simpson and Dixie Irene Music; and a grandchild
  
Survivors include three sons, Raymond Young of Jeffersonville, Timmy Young
and Hershell Young, both of Van Lear; two daughters, Loretta Bailey of
Sitka and Cathy Kretzer of Goose Creek, S.C.; a brother, Herbert Blevins of
East Point; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 23, at Phelps and
Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Roger Hill officiating.
  
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
