DAN POWERS
1906-1973

 
Dan Powers, a retired miner and resident of Van Lear, died Friday, October
26, in a local hospital at the age of 67.
 
The son of the late William G. and Cynthia Lene Collins Powers, he was born
March 14, 1906 and was affiliated with the Freewill Baptist Church.
 
He is survived by his wife, Sibyl Blair Powers, two daughters, Mrs. June
Marshall of Vandalia, OH and Mrs. Betty Overholser of Dayton, OH, two sons,
Charles Powers of Van Lear and William Ray Powers of Grove City, OH; a
brother, Weaver Powers of Dill City, OK, 17 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
 
Services were held in the Chapel of the Jones-Preston funeral Home on Monday,
October 29, with Reverends Moses Kitchen and Lee Music, officiating.
 
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville with
arrangements under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
