Flossie Price Dies Friday In Huntington W. Van Lear Woman Victim
of Heart Attack

Flossie Price, 72, widely known West Van Lear woman, died
unexpectedly Friday evening in a Huntington Hospital of a heart
attack shortly after being admitted.

She was taken to Huntington Friday by her son, Deward Price,
where it was decided that she remain for treatment.

She died at 6:22 p.m., about twenty minutes after Mr. Price had
departed for his home.

She was a member of a pioneer family of Johnson County, and had
spent the early part of her life at East Point, later moving to
the West Van Lear vicinity.

She was born July 18, 1888, the only child of the late B. L.
(Len) and Josephine Preston Spradlin.

She was married to Everett T. Price, who died in 1910.

She was a member of the West Van Lear Church of Christ, and was
one of the county’s most devout and respected women.

She leaves many friends and relatives in this section. Surviving
besides her son are two granddaughters, Mrs. Thomas Hummer, and
Miss Rosemary Price, West Van Lear, also one grandson, Joel
Thomas Hummer.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February
6, at the West Van Lear Church of Christ by the Rev. S. C.
Honeycutt.

Pallbearers were deacons of the church.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
