SAM RICE
1912-1979
Sam Rice, 66, died Sunday, October 21, I Highland Regional Medical Center
after an illness of several months. Mr. Rice was born November 7, 1912, at
Staffordsville, the son of Grant and Della Caudill Rice. He was a resident
of Paintsville and a retired mechanic.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jewell Long Rice; a son Samuel Rice of
Huntington, WV; a daughter, Mrs. William D. Slone of Williamsport; 2
brothers, Isaac Grant Rice, Jr. of Ashland and Theodore Rice of Morehead
City, NC; 2 sisters, Hilda Mae Harris of Ashland and Mary Martha Doane of
Buffalo, NY and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 23, in Paintsville Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Graham Abbott officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Paintsville
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
