NORMAN ROBERTS
1921-1988
Former Johnson County resident Norman (Payday) Roberts, 66, died Thursday,
May 26 in Our Lady of Bellefonte hospital.
Mr. Roberts was born October 15, 1921 in Johnson County, the son of Bert
Roberts and Zona Lemaster Roberts. He was a retired construction worker with
Ross Brothers, a veteran of World War II and a member of Rockhouse Freewill
Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Isabel Tackett Roberts; two sons, Norman Jr., of
Flatwoods, and Jimmy Grant of Ashland; one sister, Katherine Barber of
Worthington; and five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 29 in Rockhouse Freewill Baptist
Church, with Richard Williams, Kermit Preston and Dick VanHoose officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
