Jettie Sparks Shreve, 89, of Prestonsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 8
at her residence.
Born Jan. 22, 1914, in Floyd County, she was a daughter of the
late Melvin and Beulah Roberts Wells.
She was a homemaker and member of Third Avenue Freewill Baptist
Church, Prestonsburg.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, McKinley Sparks
and her second husband, Bob Shreve; two sons, Harry Thomas
Sparks and Willis Sparks; a daughter, Peggy Branham; two
brothers, Ferman Wells and Gene Wells; and a sister, Zenia
Wells.
Survivors include two sons, McKinley Sparks Jr. of Frenchburg
and Oakley Sparks of Emma; four daughters, Pauline Wells and
Mary Click, both of Prestonsburg, Sue Tobin of Richmond, and
Dinah Vanhoose of Emma; two brothers, John P. Wells and Melvin
Wells Jr., both of Prestonsburg; a sister, Woodsie Akers of
Lexington; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 11, at Nelson- Frazier
Funeral Home, Martin, with Robert Shane Powers and Jack Adkins
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home.
