Ruby Slone, 89, of Paintsville, died Friday, June 25,
in Paintsville.
  
Born March 3, 1921, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Ray and Mary Rister Fairchild. She was a member of the Paintsville
United Baptist Church.
  
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Slone, in 1987.
  
Survivors include a son, Roger Slone of Nippa; four daughters, Barbara
Sue Daniel, Dorothy Slone and Mary Lynn Minix, all of Paintsville, and
Marilyn Brown of Van Lear; a brother, Bob Fairchild of Dayton, Ohio;
nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren;
and two step-great-grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Monday, June 28, at Paintsville United Baptist
Church, with Charles Slone officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
