HARMON SPEARS
1920-1974

 
Services were held Tues, June 25 for Harmon Spears, formerly of Johnson
County, who was fatally injured June 22 in an automobile accident.
 
Mr. Spears, 54, died in the Fayette County Hospital at Washington
Courthouse, OH. He was a resident of Springfield, and an employee of White
Superior Company.
 
The son of the late Edgar and Victoria McFaddin Spears, he was born here in
March, 1920, and had resided in Springfield for the past nine years.
 
He was a member of the Springfield Freewill Baptist Church and of East Point
Lodge 657 F.& AM. His wife, Bessie Stapleton Spears, survives as do two
sons, Rodger Joe Spears and David Haron Spears, both of Springfield.
Surviving brothers and sisters include Walter Spears of Clearwater, FL,
Darman Spears of Collista, Mrs. Fannie Meade of Van Lear, Mrs. Faye Johnson
of Hager Hill and Mrs. Jenny Hall of Martin.
 
Rev. James Perkins officiated at services in the Collista Freewill Baptist
Church.
 
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Arrangements
were under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
