FRANCIS EARL STAFFORD
1896-1965
Francis Earl Stafford, 68, died at 7:00 a.m. Sunday at his home at Oil
Springs.
He was a retired oil well driller, and was a member of the one of the
county's most prominent families. Mr. Stafford had been in ill health for 10
years following a stroke. He had been an invalid for some time.
He was born November 02, 1896, a son of the late Thomas Roscoe and Sarah
Catherine Litteral Stafford. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are is wife, Vera Mahan Stafford, 3 daughters: Betty Jo Stafford,
Oil Springs; Mrs. Edna Earl McBrayer, St. Albens, W. Va., Mrs. Evelyn Rice,
East Point; 1 brother, Charlie Stafford, Oil Springs, and a sister, Madge
Stafford, Paintsville.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m., March 02, at the Methodist Church
in Oil Springs. Officiating ministers were Rev. Robert Meece and Rev. Robert
Hart.
Burial was in the Stafford Cemetery at Oil Springs.
