HERSHELL STAPLETON
1914-1975
Hershell Stapleton, 61, died Monday, December 15, in the Paintsville
Hospital following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Mint Stapleton and Marion Stapleton, who
survives. He was born September 15, 1914 in Johnson County, and was a
resident of Hager Hill, a retired miner and a member of the Protestant
Church.
Surviving are four brothers, Tobe of Hager Hill, Charlie of Dayton, Bill of
Mt. Sterling, and Marion Stapleton, Jr., of Wabash, IN; and five sisters,
Hattie Rice of Dayton, Bessie Spears, Mary Grace Spears, Marie Rice and Sara
Welch, all of Hager Hill.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 18, in the Collista Freewill
Baptist Church with Reverends Bruce Daniels, Paul Daniels and Steve Branham
officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
