Cecil Tackett, 87, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at
Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa.
Born March 1, 1919, in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late
Chat Tackett and Pinola Howard. He was a former custodian with
Paintsville Elementary School.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Jess Tackett,
Arlie Tackett, Neal Tackett, Henry Tackett, and Kennel Tackett;
and a sister, Bessie Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Haney Tackett of Paintsville; four
sons, Willis Woodrow Tackett of Waverly, Ohio, Phillip Roger
Tackett of Johnstown, Ohio, Wendell Lee Tackett of Wabash, Ind.,
and Cecil Curtis Tackett of Paintsville; two daughters, Alice Jane
Meade of Tutor Key, and Alma Lois Wright of Louisa; a brother,
Henry Tackett of Paintsville; 14 grandchildren; and several great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 17, at Phelps
and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville, with Buddy McKenzie, Josh
Wright, and Eddie Pelphrey officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffords-ville, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home.
