Doshia Tackett Dies August 9 1966 At Mt. Sterling. Doshia Tackett age
70, died Tuesday morning, August 9, 1966 at a Mt. Sterling hospital
following a sudden illness.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 12, 10:30 a.m. at the
Barnetts Creek United Baptist Church with Lonza Reed and John
Pelphrey officiating.
Born June 10, 1896, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the
late John and Oma Gibbs Rivers.
She had resided at Mt. Sterling for the past 11 years, formerly
living at Staffordsville. She was a member of the United Baptist
Church.
Her husband the, late H. C. Tackett preceded her in death on December
16, 1953.
Surviving are three sons, O. E., Staffordsville; Leroy of Mansfield,
Ohio; and Robert Kenneth of Lebanon, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs.
Lucille Riley of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Mrs. Bert Dills of Mt.
Sterling; and two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Spears of West Van Lear and
Mrs. Rhoda Brickley of Prestonsburg. Twenty-three grandchildren and
five great grandchildren also Survive.
Burial took place in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at
Staffordsville under direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
Grandsons of the deceased served as pallbearers.
