Elmer Francis Tackett, 84, of Paintsville, died Sunday, June 2, at
the VA Hospital, Huntington, W.Va.
Born Feb. 6, 1918, in Johnson County, a son of the late Harry Samuel
and Muriel Gertrude Snow Tackett, he was a civil engineer and a WW II
US Veteran.
Survivors include a son, William Francis Tackett of Hager Hill; two
daughters, Myra Ellen Tackett of West Liberty, and Lana Karen Greer
of Jeremiah; two brothers, Gilbert Tackett of Flatwoods and Isadore
Tackett of Paintsville; two sisters, Thelma Meeks of Paintsville, and
Isabelle Roberts of Flatwoods;13 grandchildren; and seven great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Richard Salisbury today,
Wednesday, June 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel,
Paintsville.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.
Jones-Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
