GILBERT HARRISON TACKETT
1920-2005
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 11 a.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Gilbert Harrison Tackett, 85,
of Flatwoods, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, April 20 2005 at
Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mr. Tackett was born January 14, 1920 in Johnson County, Ky., son of
the late Samuel H. and Muriel Gertrude Snow Tackett.
He was a C&O Railroad store keeper and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Hayes Tackett; one son, Ron Tackett of
Louisa, Ky.; three daughters, Anna Brashears of Staffordsville, Ky.,
Trudy Skaggs of Flatwoods, Ky., and Edna Sumner of Milledgeville,
Ga.; one brother, Isadore Tackett of Paintsville, Ky.; one sister,
Isabelle Roberts of Flatwoods, Ky.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Norman Roberts Jr. and Doug Crider,
with burial following in the Highland Memorial Park at
Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
