Murl Tackett, 65, of Louisville, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at
Kendred Hospital, Louisville.
Born Feb. 24, 1939, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late
Oka L. and Jessie Frazier Tackett. He was retired from Scholl
Trophies, a founding member of the Portland Youth Baseball Board
of Directors, and volunteer fire-fighter.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Tackett of Louisville; two
sons, James Tackett of Floyd Knobs, Ind., and Jason Tackett of
Louisville; four brothers, James Tackett of Belcher, Danny Tackett
of Staffordsville, Gerald Tackett of Hager Hill, and Roger Dean
Tackett of Flat Gap; five sisters, Virginia LeMaster of New
Lexington, Ohio, Peggy LeMaster and Francis Scott, both of
Staffordsville, Susie Blair of Springfield, Ohio, and Judy Young
of Beattyville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 16, at Paintsville Funeral
Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Rev. Ronnie Spriggs and Bro. Dean
Tackett officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Paintsville Funeral Home.
