NETTIE TACKETT
1897-1978
Nettie Boyd Fields Tackett, 81, died Tuesday, Jan 10, at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Ruth Marsh, Paintsville, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Tackett was born March 4, 1897 in Richardson, the daughter of Martin
and Ellen Boyd Boyd. She was a member of the Mouth of rush Freewill Baptist
church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Grover Mack Fields, 1915,
and T. J. Tackett, 1956.
Surviving are three sons, William Bill Tackett, Medway, OH, Harold Tackett,
Milton, IN and Rev. Floyd Tackett, Harold; five daughters, Mrs. Alice Litz,
Huntington, WV, Mrs. Lillian Woods, Medway, OH, Mrs. Dorothy Osborne,
Wittensville, Mrs. Ruth Marsh, Paintsville, and Mrs. Deloris Castle, Nippa;
a sister, Mrs. Lucille Smith, Toledo, OH; 21 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan 13, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Revs. Moses Kitchen and Dewey Conley officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
