OKA E.TACKETT
1917-1985
Staffordsville resident Oka E. Tackett, 68, died August
28, 1985 at his home.
Mr. Tackett was born February 26, 1917, Johnson County,
the son of Hiram and Doshia Tackett. He was a retired
coal miner and member of the United Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie Frazier Tackett; six sons,
Murl Tackett of Louisville, James and Roger Tackett of
Staffordsville, Gerald Tackett of Fuget, Donald Tackett
of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Danny Tackettof Wittensville;
six daughters, Virginia Lemaster of New Lexington, Ohio,
Peggy Vanhoose of Staffordsville, Judy Young of
Beattysville; Frances Scott of Sidnet, Ky. Patricia Blair
of Springfield, Ohio, and Charlotte Coleman of Pikeville;
a brother Robert Tackett of Lebanon, Ohio; and two
sisters, Lucille Riley of Minneapolis, Mn. and Ruby Dills
of Mt. Sterling.
Funeral services were held August 31, 1985 in FIsh Trap
United Baptist Church at Staffordsville with James Denny
Spradlin and Buell McKenzie officiating.
Burial was in Highlands Memorial Park at Staffordsville
with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
