SAMUEL H. TACKETT
1889-1963
Samuel H. Tackett, 73, retired C. & O. ticket agent and resident
of King Addition, died in a local hospital at 9:50 a.m.,
Wednesday, April 3, after and illness of two weeks.
The son of Lewis and Lydia Lemaster Tackett, he was born at
Staffordsville September 9, 1889. He was a member of the United
Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Muriel Gertrude Snow Tackett, to
whom he had been married for fifty years.
Other survivors include three sons, Gilbert, Staffordsville; Elmer
and Isadore Tackett both of this city; two daughters, Mrs.
Clarence Meeks, Thealka; Mrs. Norman Roberts, Ashland; a brother,
Carl Tackett, Leander. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the
Staffordsville United Baptist Church with Lonza Reed, Tommie
Bailey and John Pelphrey as officiating ministers.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park.
