SERVICES THURSDAY (Aug. 9, 1956) FOR T. J. TACKETT
T. J. Tackett, 65, died Monday (Aug. 6, 1956) in the West Liberty
Hospital following an illness of two weeks. His death was attributed
to a heart attack.
He had been a resident of Nippa for 18 years.
Born May 12, 1891, at East Point, he was the son of the late W. M.
and Mary E. Collins Tackett.
He was a farmer by occupation and a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Nettie Boyd Tackett; three sons, William
Tackett, Midway, Ohio, Harold Tackett, Connersville, Ind., and Floyd
C. Tackett, U. S. Army; five daughters, Mrs. Alice Litz, Huntington,
Miss Lillian Tackett, Midway, Ohio, Miss Dorothy Tackett, Nippa, Mrs.
Ruth Marsh, Charleston, W. Va., and Miss Deloris Tackett, Nippa; and
one stepson, Grover Fields, Connersville, Ind. Other survivors
include three sisters, Mrs. Beecher McCloud, Stambaugh, Mrs. Oakley
Castle, Lowmansville and Mrs. Sam Baldridge, West Van Lear; and two
brothers, Tenner Tackett, Nippa, and Jess Tackett, Hillsboro, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, (Aug. 9,
1956) at the home with Rev. Moses Kitchen officiating. Music will be
by the Toms Creek Singers.
Burial will be made in the Van Hoose Cemetery at Nippa under the
direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
