VELMA TACKETT
1922-2003
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 1 p.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel for Velma “Toots” Blanton Tackett, 81,
who passed away Tuesday, November 18, at Highlands Regional Medical
Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Tackett was born April 18, 1922 in Floyd County, Ky., daughter
of the late James Clinton and Fannie Myrtle George Blanton.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bo Tackett.
Surviving are three sons, Eddie Tackett of Winchester, Ky., Freddie
Tackett of Louland, Ohio and Johnny Tackett of Allen, Ky.; five
daughters, Phyllis Jean May, Patricia Butcher, Darlene Goble, Shelbie
Banks, all of Van Lear, Ky. and Cornellia Mullins of Keaton, Ky.; 27
grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-
grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Paul Wayne Browning, with burial
following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
