Gabriel "Gabe" Takacs, 89, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Paul B.
Hall Medical Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1922, at Wilder, Va., he was the son of the late Louis and
Mary Babos Takacs. He was a vocational instructor at Mayo Vocational School
and a World War II U.S. Marine veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce McGinnis Takacs; and a son,
Gabriel Takacs II.
Survivors include a son, Marcus Lou is "Marty" Tackas of Lexington; a
daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" McCloy of San Angelo, Texas; a brother, Louis
Takacs of Cumberland; three sisters, Mary Hammond of Jacksonville, Fla.,
Betty Scdensky of Ashland, Ohio, and Rosie Hall of Naples, Fla.; seven
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 7, at First Christian Church,
Paintsville, with Wesley Stedtefeld officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
