BERT TAYLOR
1896-1964
Bert Taylor, 68, died at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, in a
local hospital, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile
wreck two weeks ago.
Born February 27, 1896, he was a son of Julia Rice Taylor and the
late William R. Taylor. A resident of the county most of his
life, he was living at Staffordsville at the time of death. Mr.
Taylor was a veteran of World War I and a driller by occupation.
Survivors include his wife Brida Castle Taylor; one son, Gilbert
Ray Taylor, Marion, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Dean Rice,
Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Betty Jean Blanton, Staffordsville; one
brother, William Curtis Taylor, Staffordsville; five sisters, Mrs.
Frank Spradlin, Staffordsville; Mrs. Archie Rice, Denver; Mrs.
Paris Tackett and Mrs. Geore Richard, Staffordsville; and Mrs. Ray
Stafford, Bainbridge, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, in
the Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard
Wilcox, The Rev. Alfred Frazier, Jr. and the Rev. Woodrow Frisby
officiating.
Burial was in the Staffordsville family cemetery.
