Joseph Scott Thompson Jr., 73, of Nicholasville, formerly of
Paintsville, died Sunday, April 28, at Hospice of The Blue Grass,
Lexington.
Born Oct. 4, 1939 at Huntington, W.Va., he was the son of the late
Joseph Scott Thompson and Katherine Halstead. He was a business owner
and U.S. Army Reserve veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Thompson; and
a sister, Pamela Donte.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Thompson; a son, Shawn Scott
Thompson of Paintsville; a brother, Robert Thompson of Dallas, Texas;
two sisters, Kathy Gleason of Phoenix, Ariz., and Teresa Miller of
Lakeland, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 2, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with Wesley Stedtefeld officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
