Former Paintsville mayor James S. Trimble, 55, died  Thursday March 6, in
his Cort Street home following an extended illness.
 
Born August 21, 1930 in Johnson County, he was the son of Dorris and Maxie
Stapleton Trimble. He was self-employed in the coal, oil and gas fields and
served as Paintsville's mayor for 10 years. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church and Paintsville Masonic Lodge 381 F.& A.M.
 
Surviving are his wife, Mary Fyffe Trimble; 2 sons, Mark and Mike Trimble of
Paintsville; 2 daughters, Deborah Trimble Meadows and Doris Trimble Williams
of Paintsville; 4 brothers, Charles and Joe M. Trimble of Oil Springs and
Keith and Harold Beecher Trimble of Fairborn, OH; 6 grandchildren.  Funeral
services were held Sunday, March 9, in First Baptist Church in Paintsville
with Dr. Charles Milam officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Paintsville
Funeral Home in charge.
 
Active pallbearers were Gene Castle, Mike Horne, Roscoe Spears, Tom
Giacchini, Ken DeBoard, Clyde Ratliff, Todd Preston and Donnie Patton.
 
Honorary pallbearers were Nick Frazier, Crate Rice, J.D. Johnson, Toad
Conley, Blake Ratliff, Vencil Meadows, Homer McFaddin, Frelan Bradbury, Bob
Marsh, Billy Ward, Mike Auxier, Will Mullins, Steve Hazlett, Teddy Burchett
and Danny Moon. Also, Gene Rice, Tiny Preston. Wardie Barnett, Scott
Preston, Lee VanHoose, John Jett, Tom R. King, Roy VanHoose, Dennie Dorton,
Robert Jones, David Lemaster, Sam Fowler, Ronnie Burchett, Bob Witten, and
Drew Leckie.
