 SHELL TRIMBLE
1880-1951

Shell Trimble, 70, city, livestock dealer and chief deputy sheriff of
Johnson County, died at 3:30 p. m., Feb. 10, 1951 at Hayswood
Hospital in Maysville after an illness of four months.

Well known throughout Johnson and adjoining counties, he was born
August 12, 1880 in this county, and was the son of John and Matilda
Van Hoose Trimble.

He was a member of the United Baptist Church, and was a man of the
highest character and integrity.

Surviving besides his wife Cora Webb Trimble, whom he was married to
for fifty years, are one son and five daughters: John Powell
Trimble, Maysville; Mrs. Fanny Colvin, city; Mrs. Tilda Preston,
city; Mrs. Miranda Ward, Maysville; Mrs. Dixie Estep, Barnetts Creek;
Mrs. Laura Pelphrey, Fish Trap, Kentucky.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p. m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1951
at the United Baptist Church here by the Revs. Lonza Reed and Harlen
Montgomery.

Burial followed in the family cemetery under the direction of the
Paintsville Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Radcliffe, Billie Johnson, Boone
Trimble, Bruce Trimble, Ham Burchett, and Arbie Daniel.

Active pall bearers were: Wince Trimble, Pierce Trimble, Johnny
Davis, Russell Lemaster, Langley Ward, and Delmar Preston.
