Clifford Earl VanHoose, 90, of Paintsville, died Monday, Sept. 19, at Paul
B. Hall Medical Center.
  
Born Dec. 2, 1920, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Earl H. and
Phoebe Arnett VanHoose. He worked in the coal industry, and was a member of
the 56 Masonic Lodge, Van Lear, and Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church, and
a U.S. Navy veteran.
 
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Preston VanHoose; and a
sister, Roberta Virginia VanHoose.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Daniel of Wittensville and Susan
McDaniel of London; a son, David VanHoose of Flat Gap; six grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with James Kelly Caudill, and Jerry Scott officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
