MARY JANE VANHOOSE
1911-1995

Mary Jane (Newsome), 83, of Morehead, formerly of Johnson County,
passed away Saturday, July 8, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

She was born October 11, 1911, in Carter County, the daughter of
the late John Henry and Eliza Jane Bentley Newsome.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Angus VanHoose. Mrs.
VanHoose was a homemaker, babysitter and a former employee of Big
Sandy Bowling Lanes.

Survivors include one son, John Samuel VanHoose of Morehead; two
brothers, Howard Newsome of Grayson and Ted Newsome of Carter
County; two sisters, Opal Butcher of Meally and Jean Middleton of
Portsmouth, Ohio; three half-sisters, Polly Newsome of Grayson,
Ethel Bradley of Carter County and Edna Jacobs of irvine. Also
surviving are two grandchildren, Dr. John Samuel VanHoose II and
Jason Stephen VanHoose and two great- grandchildren, Jason Stephen
VanHoose II and Alexandra Michelle VanHoose.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 11, at the Northcutt
& Son Funerals Memorial Chapel in Morehead with Rev. William Booth
officiating.

Graveside services were held at Highlands Memorial Park at
Staffordsville with Elder Ivan Butcher officiating.

Pallbearers were Jason Stephen VanHoose, Allen Tackett, Donald
Newsome, David Butcher, Stephen Butcher, Shane Blair, John Beecher
Butcher and John Newsome.
