PROCTOR VANHOOSE
1913-1984
Proctor VanHoose, 70, died Monday, April 30, in Highlands Regional
Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born September 13, 1913 in Johnson County, he was the son of John and
Lou Lyons VanHoose. He was a resident of Paintsville, a retired miner
and a member of the Thealka Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Mae (VanHoose) VanHoose who he married
September 28, 1934; 4 sons, James O. VanHoose of Fuget, John Martin
and Phillip Roger VanHoose of Little Rock, AR, and Larry VanHoose of
Paintsville; a daughter, Sandra Jane Harlow of Prestonsburg; a
brother, Arb VanHoose of Florida; a sister, Corda Castle of Bob White,
WV; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 3 in Thealka Freewill Baptist Church
with Bruce Daniels and Don Fraley officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park under the direction of the
Preston Funeral Home.
