QUIMBY VANHOOSE

Quimby VanHoose, 70, died Thursday, May 31, in Highland Regional Medical
Center after a brief illness.
 
Mr. VanHoose was born May 15, 1909 in Johnson County, the son of Fred C. and
Stella Spears VanHoose. He was a resident of Nippa, a retired miner and a
member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are his wife, Melisie Akers VanHoose; a son, James Roger VanHoose
of Nippa; 2 daughters, Stella Combs of Sarasota, Fla and Myrtle Evelyn
Blanton of Covington; 4 brothers, Wendell VanHoose of Tutor Key, Perry
VanHoose of Nippa, Hobert VanHoose of Glasco, and Roger VanHoose of Curtis,
OH; 2 sisters, Edna Sparks of Curtis, OH and Anna Ruth Wheeler of Barnetts
Creek; 6 grandchildren.
 
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Irvin Castle and Rev. James Kelly Caudill officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
