Ballard Wallen, 86, of Catlettsburg, died Wednesday, April 2, at
King’s Daughters’ Medical Center, Ashland.
Born Oct. 1, 1916, in Whitehouse, he was a son of the late William
and Gypsy Murray Wallen.
He was a retired carpenter, a member of Concord United Baptist Church
and a U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Walters Wallen of Catlettsburg; a
daughter Sherry Hoying of Dayton, Ohio; and four sisters, Faye Craft
of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mae Price of Offutt, Edith VanHoose of
Wilmington, Ohio, and Betty Stapleton of River.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 5, at Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, Paintsville, with Elders Arvil C. Murray Jr., and David
Trimble officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Preston Funeral Home.
