VIRGIL WALLEN
1920-1984
Williamsport resident, Virgil Wallen, 63, died December 31 at his home
following an extended illness.
A retired salesman for Big Sandy Hardware, he was born September 8, 1920, in
Johnson County, the son of William and Gypsie Murray Wallen.
Surviving are his wife Betty Preston Wallen; a son, Warren Kevin Wallen of
Paintsville; 2 brothers, Floyd Wallen of Tutor Key, and Ballard Wallen of
Cannonsburg; 8 sisters, Olga Clay, Betty Stapleton, Merle Wallen, Garnett
Wiley, Mae Price and Dorothy Daniels all of River, Faye Craft of Portsmouth,
OH and Edith VanHoose of Wilmington, OH.
Funeral services were held January 3 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel
with Elders Avery Lowe, Basil Hatfield and John Kirk officiating.
Burial was in family cemetery at Williamsport.
