ESTILL WARD
1917-1994
Meally resident, Estill Ward, 77, died Saturday, December 3 at Central
Baptist Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Ward was born November 19, 1917, in
Johnson County, the son of the late Bascom and Zella Preston Ward.
He was a miner for 18 years, school bus driver for 19 years for the
Johnson County school system and member of the United Baptist Church.
Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Lois Lee Preston.
Surviving are his wife, Francis Lucille Walters Ward, two sons, Donald
Ray of Ypsilanti, MI and James Phillip of Milan, MI; two daughters,
Wanda Lou Mollett of Williamsport and Berneda Fay Powers of Ypsilanti;
three brothers, , Arby of Tipp City, OH, James of Springfield, OH and
Herman of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Marie Preston of Meally and
Malissa Roark of Phoenix; and nine grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 5 at Buffalo United
Baptist Church, Meally, with Glenn Penix, Lawrence Arrowood and Claude
Mollett officiating.
Burial was in Ward Family Cemetery at Meally, with Jones- Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
